The piece de resistance of his garden was the fragrant tree laden with pale waxy champa flowers. On December 2017, I had the privilege of watching Unravelled, a dance-theater production by Dr Janaki Rangarajan. My poem is inspired by act four of her performance where she discusses the politics of patriarchy due to which Draupadi was made a goddess even after being publicly disrobed.
