My poem, The Father is an attempt to discover the duality of a man, adorned in designer whites, embodying crisp resolve for the workday ahead. Yet, etched in memory is his raw essence, shirtless in a lungi, proudly tackling the Sunday chores. The Father is a tale of contrasts - from the sleek to the authentic, from the corporate to the personal.
The Father is the second of the two-series poem. The first one was The Child published on the 26th. It is about an amazing father I have had the privilege of knowing and experiencing my entire life. A father who I look up to—a father who is for me an embodiment of protection, support and love.
